Our Vision
Our vision is to create a new cohort of effective, transformational, futuristic-thinking, ethical leaders to deliver positive change in their communities and the world in general.
Our Mission
We believe that building a better future begins with young people. To change leadership tomorrow, you need to work with young people today.
We:
- Offer young people through our community outreach program and women in their entry, intermediate and senior years of their careers through the Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program unique opportunities to build their leadership experience.
- Equip young people and women in their entry, intermediate and senior years of their careers with the skills and knowledge they need to lead effectively and impactfully.
- Create a community of young leaders young women in their entry, intermediate and senior years of their careers who will go on to deliver change in South Africa and Africa as a whole.
The How
By equipping the women who are a part of the Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program and the young people we interact with in communities as part of our outreach programs with the necessary skills, practical tools and knowledge to become Impactful Future Leaders.
We know and understand that businesses will look and operate fundamentally differently in ten years, which means we need a new type of leader at the helm of these organizations.
We aim to achieve this through the Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program and the outreach programs that forms part of the organization’s volunteer activities where we plan to train thousands of social sector leaders each year as a mission-driven, non-profit company.
There are 4 mindset skills we aim to develop and impart at the Impactful Leadership Non-Profit Company:
The Global Citizen mindset
The world is becoming increasingly connected, which means every company has the potential for worldwide employees and customers. The mentality of the Global Citizen means thinking globally and embracing diversity. Leaders need to understand and appreciate new cultures, actively seek diverse teams, lead employees with different backgrounds, and know-how to enter and succeed in new global markets.
Servant
The servant mindset goes against much of the old way of thinking that leaders stay at the top of the company. The mindset of the service means that you practice humility and that you serve four groups: your leaders if you have them, your customers, your team, and yourself.
Chef
Like chefs balance numerous ingredients to create masterful meals, leaders must balance the two most essential ingredients of any business: humanity and technology. That means embracing technology and using it to improve efficiency in the organization while also providing a sense of purpose and caring for human employees. One side can’t succeed without the other.
Explorer
Future leaders need to be like explorers of old and embrace the unknown. They need to be open to new ideas, and change course as the world around them evolves. Just like explorers had to learn continually, leaders need to be super perpetual leaders and practice curiosity.
The Why
Impactful Leadership is about making a difference. We believe in the powerful potential impact of leadership on society. Impactful and effective leaders can transform individuals, organizations, communities, and our world.
That is why we aim to partner with others around the globe to build leadership capacity and support sustainable social change.
Together, we can be even stronger in our quest to improve the world. We readily embrace the opportunity to work with any individual or organization that sees leadership development as a means to deepen their impact.
The Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program?
The Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program is about creating impactful leaders of the future because we understand that great leaders don’t just emerge on their own. While some people may have more inherent attributes that help make a great leader, it’s certainly possible to develop the qualities and skills needed to become a better leader.
The benefits of the Impactful Leadership Mentorship Program is through the effective leadership development and skills transfer it imparts on all the mentees and this is not limited to a single event or conference or just the duration of the mentorship program. Long after the program ends, growth continues to resonate and impact ripples outward, affecting not only the individuals in the program, but also each of the lives that they touch and change as a result.
